Old Storms

So this is kind of old news, but interesting (I think) still. I'm sure you heard about the tornado in Atlanta. Did you also hear the next day that there were tornadoes like crazy? We didn't know at first either. We were out in the car and it started storming pretty badly. We heard some crazy hail on the car, but I didn't know it was like this. When we got home, we had a message from one of my sweet violin students asking if we were okay. She told me she saw that there was a tornado warning near us. We went and watched the news to see warning after warning pop up all around us. Some even materialized. Luckily, no one was terribly hurt out our way. It was so exciting and crazy. The only thing we got is some needed rain, some unneeded wind, and some weird hail. It was like normal hail covered in thick ice. You can see that they were pretty big. That one almost spans Bill's hand! Anyway, it was a crazy day, but fun.

The Hunt is On!

The Saturday before Easter our dear friends the MacPherson's invited us to come to their big family party/ Easter egg hunt. It was SO much fun! Sally loved it especially. She loves being around kids and there was lots to see and do. It was a little windy but beautiful and all around awesome. It's so nice to be able to go to events like this when you can't go to your own family celebrations. It really does mean so much to me, so thanks much for letting us intrude. Also, thanks to Stacy for taking all these pictures. I could have added so many more! I'm almost to the point of buying one- trying to decide between the Canon S5 IS and the Panasonic DMC-FZ8. If any of you know anything about either of these or a different direction I should go in, let me know.

Here's our little sweetie hunting for some loot

Our whole family got to get in on it. That's a good thing about having a toddler- you get to be a part of the fun to help. I say adults should get a hunt all their own. Who's with me?

Love this shot. She's just so dang cute.

Surprised by that egg

She kept giving her eggs to Bill, but she'd get mad if I got one

Checking out a cool clam she found. I love how intently she looks at things

She liked the duckies. The girl's got a mean quack

So pretty

She found one!

Then, it goes in the basket.

After a great day, Sally Rose was ready for her nap.

Munching to the beat of her own drummer

So, our darling Sally Rose is FINALLY getting some bottom teeth! This is a chart of what is fairly normal in the teething world.
Now, listen to the world of Sally's mouth. She was toothless till she was 14 1/2 months, then, she got one of her upper central incisors (her front teeth). This was followed shortly by the arrival of two upper molars. Then, the second front tooth graced her sweet gums. This all happened in a pretty short amount of time, and then... nothing. I kept checking and waiting and worrying about those teeth. I was afraid she'd need little dentures on the bottom. Well, I finally got a peek of two lower central incisors just about to erupt their way into the world. This chart says they are supposed to come in at six months. She's only 11 months late. You might also notice how crazy the whole order is. It's okay. I celebrate the individual! (And no baby polydent!)

There's a real, live, moving baby inside me!

So, I got to see our cute baby this week! As soon as I can get the photos to a scanner, I'll post them. It's just as magical to see that little peanut moving around as it was with Sally. I could see a little leg kicking. It makes the whole pregnancy seem so much more real. I immediately teared up (surprise). It won't ever cease to amaze me how quickly they develop and change. They did the ultrasound (which is a word I love. It sounds like an 80's metal band) to determine a due date. I guess I felt a little small for how far along I said I was. Anyway, they changed the date by a few days to October 6th! Crazy right? No? Well, crazy to me because that was Sally's due date. What are the odds? I guess I have one fertile day a year or something. I wasn't expecting an ultrasound, So Bill was on Sally duty. I wish he could have seen it. It's times like these I wish I had family near to help. We have great friends here, but we all know no one is like family.

I've been getting pretty familysick lately. One month from now, I'll be visiting with most of them. I'm SO excited. I think we bought these tickets last May- we got them on a super bargain.

Also, speaking of tickets and May, we got tickets to the Radiohead show! I am so excited to hear all the ultra sounds of their amazing music. It sold out the day they went on sale and, sadly, I failed to get any then. I finally got some on Ebay. I didn't even have to pay crazy amounts for them. Lots of good things to look forward to. Especially come October!

Fun at the Children's Museum

So, this may be the last big outing for Rebecca and Sally before the Pugmire's big move. It's happening on Wednesday! Crazy, and sad. I am happy everything went so well with their house, though. Anyway, we had a great time at the children's museum this week. Sally Rose especially loved the painting- I think we have a little budding artist. I should foster that, right? I think we'll spend some time painting outside when it gets warmer.
